"occupational therapists should constantly reflect on themselves, what they do and the people they meet through their professional role. in order to earn one's "privilege to treat", one must be able to know oneself as much as possible - know where you stand. this process enables prospective practitioners to discover their "personal filters". this process also diminishes one's egocentricity and opens up one's mind to the multitude of personality that one may meet through one's career dealing with people at a genuine and "deep" level.
only through this process, then can one truly attempt to be open with one's prospective patients or clients."
